The Journal of Joyful Grace

I've had an awful past few days, where everything that could possibly happen to make normal things infinitely more frustrating, happened (computer behaving all wonky like whoa, PMS, stupid crying for no real reason jags, hair-trigger temper and depression, feeling as if I haven't gotten anywhere, in anything (job, life, etc, etc) in a long time, and general sickish meh). Today was no exception, except it was mostly work-related crap and frustration, ten-fold. As I left work today, I felt I was hanging on to my mental stability by a thread. Mom called to say Grandpa had his gall bladder out today but they're still running more tests on him, oh, and that she's practically hacking up a lung, has a fever of 102. something, and that she has found herself on the floor 3 times already today, and has no idea how she got there all 3 times. She thinks perhaps she fainted. :-S

But my husband, my sweet husband, managed to surprise me and boost my spirits. I come home to find that he brought up and folded all of my laundry, which I had left downstairs in a basket on top of the dryer. He stayed after work and did all the grocery shopping when he got off at 5. He brought home Taco Bell for dinner. Then he put all the groceries away before he'd even sit down to eat it. After dinner, he let me sit in front of the TV to watch Charmed while he did the dishes, still in his work clothes. Washed and dried. And once all that was done, he only had about a half an hour left before he had to take off for his Microbiology lecture, and he spent it playing with my hair and letting me vent about my day.

He gave me exactly what l needed - he took the responsibility off of me.
